Hi! My name is Julie Propes and I am in my 18th year of teaching. I am originally from Arlington Heights but I’ve moved around a bit!  I graduated from University of Illinois with a B.A. in Elementary Education.  I also received my M.Ed. from the University of Illinois as well, in Curriculum & Instruction, with an emphasis on literacy.  My first two years of teaching were in first grade in Antioch, IL, followed by another nine years in first grade in Maroa-Forsyth, IL, then a year of teaching technology at Francis W. Parker School in Chicago. It has been an honor and a privilege to have been teaching kindergarten at Greenbriar Elementary ever since! My husband and I live in Northbrook, where my interests include exploring nature, reading good books, painting, traveling, horseback riding lessons, and spending time with my family and friends. We currently have a female cat named Bailey, and hope to add a doggie or two someday!
