My name is Julie Propes and I have been teaching for 15 years. I am originally from Arlington Heights but I’ve moved around a bit!  I graduated from University of Illinois in 1994 with a B.A. in Elementary Education.  In 2001 I received my M.Ed. from the University of Illinois as well, in Curriculum & Instruction, with an emphasis on literacy.  My first two years of teaching were in first grade in Antioch, IL, followed by another nine years in first grade in Maroa-Forsyth, IL, then a year of teaching technology at Francis W. Parker School in Chicago. It has been an honor and a privilege to land at Greenbriar Elementary, teaching Kindergarten!  Currently my husband and I reside in Chicago, where we enjoy the city but find ourselves often exploring the leafy green suburbs.  My interests include exploring nature, reading good books, painting, traveling, adding to my horse collection, and spending time with my husband, friends, and our rabbit!
